Data Residency
Overview
Mantra is an Atlassian Forge app designed to enhance your Confluence experience. As an app built on the Atlassian Forge platform, the majority of the data associated with Mantra is stored directly within your Confluence instance. This setup ensures that your data remains within the security boundaries of your Confluence environment.
Mantra is also part of the Cloud Fortified program, which represents Atlassian’s highest standards for security, reliability, and data compliance. This ensures that your data is handled with the utmost care and adheres to stringent industry standards.
Data Stored Directly on Your Confluence Instance
Mantra stores most of its content data directly within your Confluence instance. As a vendor, we do not have access to this data, ensuring that your content remains private and secure within your Confluence environment.
The types of data stored within your Confluence instance include:
News: All news articles and updates created within Mantra.
Posts: Content posts made by users.
Polls: Polls created and the responses collected from users.
Comments: User comments on news, posts, and polls.
Event Descriptions and Media: Information and media associated with events.
Data Stored on Our Servers
For certain technical reasons, Mantra requires the storage of some data on our own servers. These servers are hosted in Frankfurt, Germany, within the Google Cloud Platform. All data stored on these servers is encrypted at rest, tenant isolated, and fully compliant with GDPR regulations.
The types of data stored on our servers include:
Administration Settings: This includes settings related to navigation menus, workspaces, and other administrative configurations within Mantra.
Individual Workspace Settings: Specific settings associated with different workspaces within your Confluence instance.
Some content metadata: Likes / reactions for posts and events as well as event dates.
It’s important to note that no personal information is stored on our servers by default. The data stored is primarily configuration and metadata essential for the app’s functionality.
People Directory Data (Optional)
Mantra offers an optional People Directory feature that allows for enhanced user management and interaction. If you choose to enable this feature, people directory data will be stored on our servers. This feature is disabled by default and requires explicit activation by an administrator before any personal data is stored.
Summary
Mantra ensures that the majority of your data remains securely within your Confluence instance, with minimal data stored on our servers for technical purposes. Our commitment to security, reliability, and compliance is reinforced by our participation in the Atlassian Cloud Fortified program, providing you with the confidence that your data is protected and handled with care.
